The Comet (Al-Taareq)
17 verses, revealed in Mecca after The Town (Al-Balad) before The Moon (Al-Qamar)
In the Name of God, the Merciful, the Compassionate
By oath of the heaven, and by oath of the nightly arriver. 1 - Ah, what will tell thee what the Morning Star is! 2 It is the shining star -- 3 [for] no human being has ever been left unguarded. 4 Let the human being reflect that from what he has been created. 5 He was created of a gushing fluid, 6 emanating from between the loins and the ribs. 7 Verily He is Able to restore him, 8 The Day when all the secrets (deeds, prayers, fasting, etc.) will be examined (as to their truth). 9 (Man) will have no power, and no helper. 10 By the rotating heavens 11 And by oath of the earth which flourishes with it. 12 Behold this is the Word that distinguishes (Good from Evil): 13 it is not a jest. 14 Indeed the disbelievers carry out their evil schemes. 15 And I (too) will make a scheme. 16 So respite the unbelievers; delay with them awhile. 17
God Almighty has spoken the truth.
End of Surah: The Comet (Al-Taareq). Sent down in Mecca after The Town (Al-Balad) before The Moon (Al-Qamar)
