The Snatchers (Al-Naze'aat)
In the name of Allah, the Entirely Merciful, the Especially Merciful
By [the winds] that pluck out vehemently 1 by the drawers (the angels of death), gently drawing (the souls of the believers), 2 And by those that swim along (i.e. angels or planets in their orbits, etc.). 3 And those who race each other in a race 4 by the managers (angels) affair. 5 On the day when the trembling one will tremble. (The disbelievers will certainly taste the punishment.) 6 followed by the succeeding, 7 On that Day some hearts shall tremble (with fright), 8 Their eyes cast down. 9 They say (now): "What! shall we indeed be returned to (our) former state? 10 "What! - when we shall have become rotten bones?" 11 and they say, "That indeed would be a losing return." 12 [But,] then, that [Last Hour] will be [upon them of a sudden, as if it were] but a single accusing cry 13 and behold! They will all come out in the open. 14 Has there reached you the story of Moses? - 15 When his Lord called to him in the holy valley, Towa: 16 saying, "Go to the Pharaoh. He has transgressed beyond all bounds. 17 Then say: Have you (a desire) to purify yourself: 18 [If so,] then I shall guide thee towards [a cognition of] thy Sustainer, so that [henceforth] thou wilt stand in awe [of Him].'" 19 So he showed him the mighty sign. 20 but he denied it and refused [the faith]. 21 Then he turned his back, striving hard (against Allah). 22 then he mustered 23 Saying: "I am your lord, most high", 24 So Allah seized him with the punishment of the hereafter and the former life. 25 Indeed in that is a warning for whoever would fear [Allah]. 26
