1/4 Hizb 38
< random >
The dwellers of Al-Aiyka [near Madyan (Midian)] belied the Messengers. 176 When Shu'aib said to them: "Will you not take heed? 177 Indeed, I am to you a trustworthy messenger. 178 "So fear Allah and obey me. 179 And I do not ask you any reward for it, my reward is only with the Lord of the worlds; 180 ۞ Fill up the measure, do not be among the cheats, 181 weigh with an even balance 182 and do not deliver short, and do not go about creating mischief in the land, 183 "And fear Him Who created you and the generations of the men of old." 184 They said: "You are no more than one of those who have been bewitched, 185 for thou art nothing but a mortal like ourselves! And behold, we think that thou art a consummate liar! 186 “Therefore cause a part of the sky to fall upon us, if you are of the truthful.” 187 (Shu'aib) said: "My Lord knows well what you are doing." 188 They rejected him, and then had to suffer the punishment of a day of overshadowing gloom. That was indeed the punishment of an awful day. 189 Verily in that is a Sign: but most of them do not believe. 190 And verily thy Lord is He, the Exalted in Might, Most Merciful. 191
