Incontestable (Al-Haaqqah)
In the name of God, The Most Gracious, The Dispenser of Grace
۞ The Inevitable Hour! 1 and what is the Resurrection Verifier? 2 And what would make you realize what the sure calamity is! 3 Thamood and Ad cried lies to the Clatterer. 4 Thamood, they were destroyed by the violent shout (of Gabriel), 5 And as for 'Aad, they were destroyed by a screaming, violent wind 6 He made it rage against them seven nights and eight days in succession: so that thou couldst see the (whole) people lying prostrate in its (path), as they had been roots of hollow palm-trees tumbled down! 7 Then seest thou any of them left surviving? 8 And Fir'awn and those before him and the overturned cities committed sin. 9 And disobeyed (each) the messenger of their Lord; so He punished them with an abundant Penalty. 10 Indeed, when the water overflowed, We carried your ancestors in the sailing ship 11 That We might make it a remembrance for you, and the keen ear (person) may (hear and) understand it. 12 Then when the Trumpet will be blown with one blowing (the first one), 13 And the earth and the mountains shall be borne and the twain shall be crushed with a single crash. 14 Then, on that day will the Event befall. 15 And the heaven will split asunder – so on that day it will be unstable. 16 and the angels [will appear] at its ends, and above them, eight will bear aloft on that Day the throne of thy Sustainer's almightiness… 17 On that day you shall be exposed, not one secret of yours concealed. 18 So as for he who is given his record in his right hand, he will say, "Here, read my record! 19 “I was certain that I will confront my account.” 20 So he shall have an agreeable life 21 in an exalted garden 22 with clusters of fruit within easy reach. 23 [And all who are thus blest will be told:] "Eat and drink with good cheer in return for all [the good deeds] that you have sent ahead in days gone by!" 24 However, those who will receive the books of the records of their deeds in their left hands will say, "We wish that this record had never been given to us 25 Nor that I knew my reckoning! 26 Would that death had taken us away for good. 27 My riches have availed me not; 28 My authority is gone away from me. 29 "Seize him and manacle him, 30 then throw them into hell to be heated up therein. 31 "Further, make him march in a chain, whereof the length is seventy cubits! 32 Indeed, he did not use to believe in Allah, the Most Great, 33 nor were they concerned with feeding the destitute. 34 So there is not for him here this Day any devoted friend 35 Nor any food save filthy corruption. 36 which none but the sinners eat!" 37
