The Snatchers (Al-Naze'aat)
In the Name of Allah, the Beneficent, the Merciful
By the angels who violently tear-out the souls of the disbelievers from their bodies, 1 and those that blow gently, 2 and by [the clouds] that swim serenely and 3 and vie with the others (in carrying out their Lord's behests); 4 and by the angels who regulate the affairs, (you will certainly be resurrected). 5 On the day when the first trumpet sound blasts 6 and will be followed by the second one, 7 On that Day some hearts shall tremble (with fright), 8 Their eyes humbled. 9 (Now) they are saying: Shall we really be restored to our first state 10 after we have become bones and dust?" 11 They say: "It would, in that case, be a return with loss!" 12 [But,] then, that [Last Hour] will be [upon them of a sudden, as if it were] but a single accusing cry 13 and then, lo, they will be fully awakened [to the truth]! 14 Has there reached you the story of Moses? - 15 When his Lord called to him in Tuwa's holy vale? 16 "Go to Pharaoh. Indeed, he has transgressed. 17 And say, "Hast thou the will to purify thyself; 18 that I may direct you to your Lord and then you hold Him in awe?'” 19 Then [Musa (Moses)] showed him the great sign (miracles). 20 But he denied and disobeyed, 21 Then he quickly turned his back. 22 and gathered his people and declared: 23 And said, "I am your most exalted lord." 24 So Allah seized him with the punishment of the Everlasting Life, and of this world. 25 In this there is a lesson for those who have fear of God. 26
