And make mention (O Muhammad) of Our bondman Job, when he cried unto his Lord (saying): Lo! the devil doth afflict me with distress and torment. 41 (We answered his prayer, healed his sickness, and told him), "Run on your feet. This is cool water (for you) to wash and drink". 42 And We bestowed upon him new offspring, doubling their number as an act of grace from Us, and as a reminder unto all who are endowed with insight. 43 (and We said to him): “Take in your hand a bundle of rushes and strike with it, and do not break your oath.” Indeed We found him steadfast. How excellent a servant (of Ours) he was. Indeed he constantly turned (to his Lord). 44 And remember Our servants -- Abraham, Isaac and Jacob -- they were endowed with great strength and vision. 45 Verily We exalted them in consideration of a sterling quality: their remembrance of the Abode of the Hereafter. 46 And in Our sight, they are indeed the chosen ones, the beloved. 47 Recall Ismael, Elisha, and Dhulkifl (Ezekiel) who were all virtuous people. 48 This is a Remembrance; and for the godfearing is a fair resort, 49 Gardens of Eden with gates open wide to them, 50 Therein they will recline; therein they will call for plenteous fruit and drink. 51 ۞ And with them shall be those restraining their eyes, equals in age. 52 All this is what you are promised for the Day of Judgement. 53 Lo! this in truth is Our provision, which will never waste away. 54 This is so! And for the Taghun (transgressors, disobedient to Allah and His Messenger - disbelievers in the Oneness of Allah, criminals, etc.), will be an evil final return (Fire), 55 hell will they have to endure - and how vile a resting-place! 56 This (shall be so); so let them taste it, boiling and intensely cold (drink). 57 And other (torment) of the kind in pairs (the two extremes)! 58 'This is a troop rushing in with you; there is no Welcome for them; they shall roast in the Fire.' 59 [And] they [who had been seduced] will exclaim: "Nay, but it is you! No welcome to you! It is you who have prepared this for us: and how vile a state to abide in!" 60 They will say: "Our Lord! Whoever brought this upon us, add to him a double torment in the Fire!" 61 And will add: "O what has happened to us that we do not see the men we counted among the wicked. 62 Did we take them (wrongly) for a laughing-stock, or have our eyes missed them? 63 All this is certainly true -- the inhabitants of the Fire will blame one another in this way. 64
