And indeed Yunus is one of the Noble Messengers. 139 When he ran away to a ship completely laden, 140 He (agreed to) cast lots, and he was among the losers, 141 And a fish swallowed him, and he was reproaching himself. 142 And had he not been one of those who glorify (Allah) 143 He would have remained in its belly till the day when all will be raised. 144 ۞ We cast him out of the fish unto dry land and he was sick. 145 And We caused a tree of gourd to grow above him; 146 And We sent him (on a mission) to a hundred thousand (men) or more. 147 And they believed, so We gave them enjoyment [of life] for a time. 148 Now ask them their opinion: Is it that thy Lord has (only) daughters, and they have sons?- 149 Or, did We create the angels females while they were witnessing? 150 Unquestionably, it is out of their [invented] falsehood that they say, 151 "Allah has begotten children"? but they are liars! 152 Has He chosen daughters in preference to sons? 153 What is the matter with you, how is it that you judge? 154 “So do you not ponder?” 155 Or have you clear evidence? 156 Then bring your book, if you are truthful. 157 They link Him with jinns by lineage, yet the jinns know they will be brought before Him. 158 Exaltations to Allah above what they describe, 159 Except His chosen creatures who do not. 160 Therefore you and all what you worship. (The disbelievers and their deities.) 161 can cause anyone to fall prey to your temptation 162 except those who will burn in Hell. 163 "There is not one of us who does not have his appointed place," (declare the angels.) 164 We stand in ranks (for prayer) 165 we are they that give glory. 166 And surely they used to say: 167 If we had the account of earlier people with us, 168 We would have been the chosen creatures of God." 169 But they disbelieve in it (the Koran), but soon they shall know! 170 And verily Our word went forth of old unto Our bondmen sent (to warn) 171 That verily they! they shall be made triumphant. 172 and that it is Our host that would certainly triumph. 173 So, [O Muhammad], leave them for a time. 174 See them and soon they shall see. 175 Do they really wish to hasten Our punishment? 176 But then, once it alights upon them, hapless will be the awakening of those who were warned [to no avail]! 177 So turn thou from them for a while, 178 and see; soon they shall see! 179 Exalted is your Lord, the Lord of might, above what they describe. 180 And peace be unto the sent ones. 181 And all praise to God, the Lord of all the worlds. 182
