The Night (Al-Layl)
21 verses, revealed in Mecca after The All High (Al-A'alaa) before Dawn (Al-Fajr)
In the name of God, the Most Gracious, the Most Merciful
CONSIDER the night as it veils [the earth] in darkness, 1 and by the day when it breaks in its glory, 2 and That which created the male and the female, 3 Certainly, your efforts and deeds are diverse (different in aims and purposes); 4 As for one who gives [to others] and fears [God], 5 and believes in the truth of the ultimate good 6 Surely We will ease his way unto the state of ease. 7 but for him that is a miser, and sufficed, 8 And gives the lie to Al-Husna (see Verse No: 6 footnote); 9 for him shall We make easy the path towards hardship: 10 His wealth will not avail him when he falls into ruin. 11 Surely, in Our hands is guidance, 12 and to Us belong the Last and the First. 13 I therefore warn you of the fire that is ablaze. 14 None shall enter it but the most unhappy, 15 who have rejected the (Truth) and have turned away from it. 16 But the God-fearing shall be kept away from it, 17 the Godfearing who spends his wealth to purify himself; 18 And no one has with him any boon for which he should be rewarded, 19 acting only for the sake of his Lord the Most High -- 20 and before long he will be well satisfied. 21
Allah Almighty has spoken the truth.
