The Arrangers (Al-Saaffaat)
In the name of God, the Most Gracious, the Most Merciful
I CALL TO witness those who stand arrayed in rows, 1 By the angels driving away. 2 Then those who recite, being mindful, 3 surely your God is One, 4 Lord of the heavens and the earth, and of what between them is Lord of the Easts. 5 Lo! We have adorned the lowest heaven with an ornament, the planets; 6 a protection against every rebel satan; 7 (So) they should not strain their ears in the direction of the Exalted Assembly but be cast away from every side, 8 Outcast, and theirs is a perpetual torment; 9 Some of them who stealthily steal words from the heavens are pursued by a glistening flame. 10 Therefore ask them (O dear Prophet Mohammed – peace and blessings be upon him), “Are they a stronger creation, or are other things of our creation, (the angels, the heavens etc.)?” We have indeed created them from sticky clay. 11 No, you marvel, while they scoff. 12 When they are reminded, they do not pay heed, 13 and, when they see a sign, would scoff; 14 And they say, “This is nothing but clear magic.” 15 Why - after we have died and become mere dust and bones, shall we, forsooth, be raised from the dead? 16 along with our forefathers?" 17 Say (O Muhammad): Ye, in truth; and ye will be brought low. 18 So it shall only be a single cry, when lo! they shall see. 19 And say: "Ah woe! This is the Day of Reckoning." 20 [It will be said], "This is the Day of Judgement which you have been denying." 21
