Al-Aadeyaat
The Galloppers (Al-Aadeyaat)
11 verses, revealed in Mecca after The Afternoon (Al-'Asr) before Bounty (Al-Kawthar)
In the name of Allah, most benevolent, ever-merciful
By the chargers panting, 1 Then those that produce fire striking, 2 by the dawnraiders, 3 And raise the dust in clouds the while, 4 Penetrating forthwith as one into the midst (of the foe); 5 Lo! man is an ingrate unto his Lord 6 and to this, behold, he [himself] bears witness indeed: 7 He certainly has a strong love for wealth and riches. 8 ۞ Knows he not that when that which is in the tombs is over-thrown, 9 And all what lies in the breasts is opened – 10 Surely their Lord will be aware of their (deeds). 11
True are the words of Allah the Almighty.
