The prople of Lout (Lot) (those dwelt in the towns of Sodom in Palestine) belied the Messengers. 160 when their brother Lot said to them, 'Will you not be godfearing? 161 “I am indeed a trustworthy Noble Messenger of Allah to you.” 162 So fear Allah and obey me. 163 I seek of you no reward. My reward is with none but the Lord of the Universe. 164 "Go you in unto the males of the 'Alamin (mankind), 165 leaving aside those whom Allah has created for you as your mates. Nay, you are a people that has transgressed all limits." 166 Said they: "Indeed, If thou desist not, O Lot, thou wilt most certainly be expelled [from this township]!" 167 He said: verily I am of those who abhor your work. 168 My Lord, save me and my family from their evil doings." 169 So We delivered him and his people all together, 170 save an old woman among those that tarried; 171 and then We utterly destroyed the others, 172 and We rained on them a rain; and evil is the rain of them that are warned. 173 Verily, in this is indeed a sign, yet most of them are not believers. 174 Your Lord, He is the Almighty, the Most Merciful. 175
