The Human (Al-Insan)
In the name of Allah, most benevolent, ever-merciful
Has there not been over Man a long period of Time, when he was nothing - (not even) mentioned? 1 Surely We have created man from a small life-germ uniting (itself): We mean to try him, so We have made him hearing, seeing. 2 Indeed, We guided him to the way, be he grateful or be he ungrateful. 3 Verily, We have prepared for the disbelievers iron chains, iron collars, and a blazing Fire. 4 Surely the devotees will drink cups flavoured with palm blossoms 5 a fountain whereat drink the servants of God, making it to gush forth plenteously. 6 (Because) they perform the vow and fear a day whereof the evil is wide-spreading, 7 And they give food, inspite of their love for it (or for the love of Him), to Miskin (poor), the orphan, and the captive, 8 "We only feed you for the sake of God and we do not want any reward or thanks from you. 9 “Indeed we fear from our Lord a day which is extremely bitter, most severe.” 10 So Allah will save them from the evil of that Day and has secured for them radiance and joyfulness, 11 and will reward them for their steadfastness with Paradise and robes of silk. 12 Reclining therein on raised couches, they shall find therein neither (the severe heat of) the sun nor intense cold. 13 near them shall be its shades, and its clusters hung meekly down, 14 They will be served with silver dishes and crystal clear goblets. 15 goblets of silver that they have precisely measured. 16 And therein they shall be given to drink of a cup whereof the admixture will be ginger. 17 drawn from a spring (in Paradise) called Salsabil. 18 ۞ They will be attended by youths who will not age -- when you see them you will think them to be like sprinkled pearls -- 19 And when thou lookest, it is there thou wilt see a Bliss and a Realm Magnificent. 20 Upon those [blest] will be garments of green silk and brocade; and they will be adorned with bracelets of silver. And their Sustainer will them to drink of a drink most pure. 21 "This in truth is your recompense, and acceptance of your endeavours." 22
