Does it not guide the people who inherit the land from former people that We can punish them for their sins if We will? And seal up their hearts so that they would not be able to lend an ear to words of guidance? 100 Those were the towns whose story We relate unto you (O Muhammad SAW). And there came indeed to them their Messengers with clear proofs, but they were not such as to believe in that which they had rejected before. Thus Allah does seal up the hearts of the disbelievers (from each and every kind of religious guidance). 101 Most of them We found not men (true) to their covenant: but most of them We found rebellious and disobedient. 102 Then, after them, We sent Moses with our tokens unto Pharaoh and his chiefs, but they repelled them. Now, see the nature of the consequence for the corrupters! 103 Moses said, 'Pharaoh, I am a Messenger from the Lord of all Being, 104 And it behoves me to say nothing about Allah except what is true. I have come to you with a clear sign of having been sent from your Lord. So let the Children of Israel go with me.' 105 [Pharaoh] said, "If you have come with a sign, then bring it forth, if you should be of the truthful." 106 Then he flung down his staff and lo! it was a serpent manifest; 107 Then he uncovered his hand and it appeared sheer white to the onlookers. 108
