The All Compassionate (Al-Rahman)
78 verses, revealed in Medina after Thunder (Al-Ra'ad) before The Human (Al-Insan)
In the name of Allah, most benevolent, ever-merciful
۞ (Allah) Most Gracious! 1 It is He Who has taught the Qur'an. 2 Has created Prophet Mohammed (peace and blessings be upon him) as the soul of mankind. 3 [And] taught him eloquence. 4 The sun and moon rotate in a predestined orbit. 5 And the stars and trees prostrate. 6 He raised the heaven on high and set the scale. 7 So that none may err against the scales, 8 And observe correct measure, weigh with justice, and not cheat the balance. 9 And the earth He laid [out] for the creatures. 10 In which are fruits, and covered dates. 11 Husked grain and scented herb. 12 How many favours of your Lord will then both of you deny? 13 He created the human from clay, like earthenware 14 And the jinns did He create from a smokeless flame of fire. 15 Which, then, of your Sustainer's powers can you disavow? 16 (He is) Lord of the two Easts and Lord of the two Wests: 17 Which then of the bounties of your Lord will you deny? 18 He has set the two oceans in motion, converging together. 19 and yet there is a barrier between them which they may not overstep. 20 Which is it, of the favours of your Lord, that ye deny? 21 Out of them come pearls and coral. 22 Then which of the favours of your Lord will ye deny? 23 Also, His are the ships that run, raised up like mountains upon the sea. 24 How many favours of your Lord will then both of you deny? 25

قراءة القرآن مترجماً إلى الإنجليزية أو أية لغة أخرى أشبه بقراءة كتب التفسير من قراءة ترجمات حرفية.
Reading the Quran translated into English, or any other language, is more like reading books of interpretation than reading literal translations.
