The Thamud accused the messengers of lies. 141 When their brother Salih said to them: Will you not guard (against evil)? 142 I am for you an honest Messenger. 143 So fear Allah and obey me. 144 "And no reward whatever do I ask of you for it: my reward rests with none but the Sustainer of all the worlds. 145 "Will you be left secure in that which you have here? 146 In gardens and springs. 147 and cornfields, and palm-trees laden with fruit -- 148 carving comfortable houses out of the mountains? 149 So fear God and obey me: 150 "And follow not the bidding of those who are extravagant,- 151 Who cause corruption in the land and do not amend." 152 They replied: "You are nothing but one of those who are bewitched; 153 Thou art but a human being like unto us. So bring thou a sign if thou art of the truth-tellers. 154 He said: "Here is a she-camel: she has a right of watering, and ye have a right of watering, (severally) on a day appointed. 155 Do not treat her unkindly or the punishment of a grievous day will fall on you." 156 But they hamstrung her, and then were penitent. 157 So the punishment overtook them. Most surely there is a sign in this, but most of them do not believe. 158 Your Lord is Majestic and All-merciful. 159

Notes and Instructions
قراءة القرآن مترجماً إلى الإنجليزية أو أية لغة أخرى أشبه بقراءة كتب التفسير من قراءة ترجمات حرفية.
Reading the Quran translated into English, or any other language, is more like reading books of interpretation than reading literal translations.
