The Rolling (Al-Takweer)
In the name of Allah, Most Gracious, Most Merciful
When the sun is wound up; 1 the stars are made to fade away, 2 the mountains are scattered about as dust, 3 when the pregnant camels shall be neglected, 4 The wild beasts stampede on the run, 5 when the seas are set boiling, 6 And when the souls are paired 7 When the female (infant), buried alive, is questioned - 8 For what sin she was slain. 9 when the records of men's deeds are laid open, 10 And when the heaven has its covering removed, 11 when Hell is set ablaze, 12 And Paradise brought near, 13 (Then) every soul will know what it hath made ready. 14 So verily, I swear by the planets that recede (i.e. disappear during the day and appear during the night). 15 the planets that run their course and set, 16 and the night that falls, 17 and the first breath of morning. 18 Verily it is a Word brought by a messenger honoured, 19 Mighty, established in the presence of the Lord of the Throne, 20 Obeyed one; then trustworthy. 21 And your companion is not insane. 22 in truth he saw him (Gabriel) on the clear horizon, 23 nor does he grudge (conveying this knowledge about) the Unseen; 24 Nor is this the word of an outcast devil. 25 So whither do you stray? 26 It is naught but a Reminder unto all beings, 27 For him among you who pleases to go straight. 28 But ye shall not will except as Allah wills,- the Cherisher of the Worlds. 29
