The Rolling (Al-Takweer)
In the Name of Allah, the Most Beneficent, the Most Merciful
WHEN THE SUN is folded up, 1 And when the stars shall fall; 2 The mountains made to move, 3 when the ten-months pregnant camels shall be abandoned, 4 when the savage beasts shall be mustered, 5 the oceans are brought to a boil, 6 And when the souls he paired, 7 and when the girl-child buried alive shall be asked: 8 Upon what sin was she killed for. 9 and when the scrolls of (men's) deeds shall be unfolded, 10 when the sky is unveiled, 11 and Hell is stoked, 12 when Paradise shall be brought nigh, 13 then shall each person know what he has brought along. 14 So I swear by the retreating stars - 15 that hide, 16 and by the night as it recedes, 17 And by the dawn when it breathes 18 Verily this is the word of a noble message-bearer; 19 Owner of strength, of established dignity with the Lord of the Throne. 20 The one who is obeyed, and trustworthy. (Other angels obey angel Jibreel). 21 And your companion is not [at all] mad. 22 And of a truth he saw himself on the clear horizon. 23 Neither doth he withhold grudgingly a knowledge of the Unseen. 24 Nor is this the word of a stoned satan. 25 Then where are you going? 26 Verily, this (the Quran) is no less than a Reminder to (all) the 'Alamin (mankind and jinns). 27 to everyone of you who wills to walk a straight way. 28 And you will not, unless (it be) that Allah wills, the Lord of the 'Alamin (mankind, jinns and all that exists). 29
