Now, behold, this [divine writ] has indeed been bestowed from on high by the Sustainer of all the worlds: 192 It has been revealed through the trustworthy Spirit 193 upon thy heart, [O Muhammad] so that thou mayest be among those who preach 194 in the clear Arabic tongue. 195 And indeed, it is [mentioned] in the scriptures of former peoples. 196 Is it not a sign unto them that the learned among the Children of Isra'il know it? 197 Had We revealed it to any one of the non-Arabs, 198 And had he recited it to them, they would not have believed in it. 199 This is how We have made (the habit of) denying embedded in the hearts of the guilty. 200 They will not believe in it till they behold the painful doom, 201 It will come upon them suddenly when they are not expecting it. 202 Then they will say: Shall we be respited? 203 Do they, then, [really] wish that Our chastisement be hastened on? 204 Did you consider that if We were to let them enjoy life for many years 205 and then the promised punishment fell upon them, 206 So of what benefit will be the comforts that they were using? 207 And We did not destroy any city except that it had warners 208 for a reminder, and We never harmed. 209 It was not the devils who brought down the Quran: 210 Neither would it suit them, nor they can (produce it). 211 Indeed they are debarred from even hearing it. 212 Therefore do not worship another deity along with Allah, for you will be punished. 213 And warn your nearest relations, 214 And take those believers under your wing who follow you. 215 And if they disobey thee, say thou: verily I am quit of that which ye work. 216 Have trust in the Mighty, the Merciful, 217 Who watches you when you get up, 218 and [sees] thy behaviour among those who prostrate themselves [before Him]: 219 He is All-Hearing, All-Knowing. 220 O people, shall I tell you on whom it is that satans descend? 221 They descend on every forgerer steeped in sin, 222 They incline their ears, and most of them are liars. 223 And as for the poets -- it is the misled who follow them. 224 Observest thou not, that they wander about every vale. 225 And they speak what they do not do? 226 [Most of them are of this kind] save those who have attained to faith, and do righteous deeds, and remember God unceasingly, and defend themselves [only] after having been wronged, and [trust in God's promise that] those who are bent on wrongdoing will in time come to know how evil a turn their destinies are bound to take! 227
Almighty Allah's Truth.
