The Splitting (Al-Inshiqaaq)
Allah - beginning with the name of - the Most Gracious, the Most Merciful
۞ WHEN THE SKY is cleft asunder, 1 And it listens to the command of its Lord – and that befits it. 2 and when the earth is stretched out 3 And it unburdens itself of all that is in it, and becomes empty. 4 and obeys its Lord as it must, 5 O man, you are striving unto your Lord and you will meet Him. 6 So whoever is given his record of deeds in his right hand – 7 He will be judged with an easy account 8 and they will return to their people, delighted 9 But as for him who is given his book behind his back, 10 he will pray for utter destruction 11 But will be roasted in the fire. 12 He used to be happy with his own people; 13 He verily deemed that he would never return (unto Allah). 14 Yes! Verily, his Lord has been ever beholding him! 15 I do not need to swear by the sunset, 16 and by the night and what it enfolds, 17 And the moon when at the full, 18 That you shall most certainly enter one state after another. 19 So, wherefore do they not believe? 20 And when the Qur'an is read to them, they fall not prostrate, ۩ 21 But those who have disbelieved deny, 22 And Allah is most knowing of what they keep within themselves. 23 Wherefore announce thou unto them a torment afflictive. 24 Except those who believed and did good deeds – for them is a reward that will never end. 25
