Jinns (Al-Jinn)
In the Name of Allah, the Merciful, the Most Merciful
۞ SAY: "I HAVE been informed that a number of jinns had listened; then said: 'We have heard the wondrous Qur'an, 1 It guides to the right course, and we have believed in it. And we will never associate with our Lord anyone. 2 Exalted is the glory of our Lord; He has neither wife nor son. 3 And the foolish among us were wont to forge lies against Allah exceedingly. 4 And we had thought that mankind and the jinn would never speak about Allah a lie. 5 But there were certain men from mankind who would take refuge with certain males from the jinn and they increased them in tyranny. 6 And indeed they supposed, even as ye suppose, that Allah would not raise anyone (from the dead) - 7 And we sought to reach the heaven; then we found it filled with a strong guard and darting meteors. 8 And we used to sit on places (high) therein to listen. But he who listeneth now findeth a flame in wait for him; 9 We do not know if this means ill for the dwellers of the earth, or their Lord wishes guidance for them. 10 As for us, some of us are righteous and others are not. We have all followed different ways. 11 We know that we cannot frustrate Allah in the earth, nor can we frustrate Him by flight. 12 Now that we have listened to the guidance, we believe in it. Whoever believes in his Lord does not need to fear loss or oppression. 13 "'Yet [it is true] that among us are such as have surrendered themselves to God - just as there are among us such as have abandoned themselves to wrongdoing. Now as for those who surrender themselves to Him - it is they that have attained to consciousness of what is right; 14 And as for the deviators, for Hell they shall be fuel. 15 [KNOW,] THEN, that if they [who have heard Our call] keep firmly to the [right] path, We shall certainly shower them with blessings abundant, 16 that We might try them therein. And whosoever turns away from the Remembrance of his Lord, He will thrust him into chastisement rigorous. 17 And the prostrations are for Allah; wherefore call not along with Allah anyone. 18 When the worshiper of Allah stood supplicating to Him, they swarmed around him (Prophet Muhammad). 19
