The Backbiter (Al-Hummazah)

9 verses, revealed in Mecca after Resurrection (Al-Qeyaamah) before Dispatched (Al-Mursalaat)

Allah - beginning with the name of - the Most Gracious, the Most Merciful

Woe to every fault-finding back-biter, 1 Who hath gathered wealth (of this world) and arranged it. 2 thinking his riches have made him immortal! 3 Nay, but verily he will be flung to the Consuming One. 4 And what could make thee conceive what that crushing torment will be? 5 It is the fire kindled by God 6 Which will climb on to the hearts. 7 Surely it shall be closed over upon them, 8 In extended columns. 9
