A 'araaf (Al-A 'araaf)

In the Name of Allah, the Most Beneficent, the Most Merciful

۞ AlifLaamMeemSaad. 1 This Book has been sent down to you; so do not hesitate to warn (the unbelievers) through it, and remind the faithful. 2 Follow what has been sent down to you from your Lord, and follow no friends other than He; little do you remember. 3 And how many a township We have destroyed, upon them Our violence came at night or while they were taking their midday rest. 4 And when Our scourge fell upon them their only cry was: 'We are indeed transgressors.' 5 (On the Day of Reckoning) We shall question the people to whom We had sent Our apostles, (if they followed their teachings), and will question the apostles. 6 and We shall relate to them with knowledge; assuredly We were not absent. 7 The weighing on that Day will be the true weighing: those whose scales are heavy will prosper. 8 And those whose (deeds) are lighter in the scale shall perish for violating Our signs. 9 And surely, We gave you authority on the earth and appointed for you therein provisions (for your life). Little thanks do you give. 10
