A 'araaf (Al-A 'araaf)
In the Name of Allah, the Merciful, the Most Merciful
۞ Alif Lam Mim Sad. 1 [This is] a Book revealed to you, [O Muhammad] - so let there not be in your breast distress therefrom - that you may warn thereby and as a reminder to the believers. 2 Follow that which is sent down toward you from your Lord, and follow not any patrons beside Him; yet little ye are admonished. 3 How many a township We have destroyed! Our scourge fell upon them at night, or when they were taking midday rest. 4 And when Our punishment overtook them they had nothing to say except crying out: "We have indeed been sinners." 5 Then shall we question those to whom Our message was sent and those by whom We sent it. 6 Then most certainly We will relate to them with knowledge, and We were not absent. 7 Truth alone will be of weight that Day. Those whose scales are heavy shall be successful, 8 As for those whose bad deeds weigh heavier, they will lose their souls for their injustice to Our revelations. 9 We established you in the earth and made for you a livelihood but little is it that you give thanks. 10
