A 'araaf (Al-A 'araaf)

206 verses, revealed in Mecca after S (Saad) before Jinns (Al-Jinn)

In the name of Allah, the Compassionate, the Merciful

۞ Alif. Lam. Mim. Sad. 1 This Book has been sent down to you; so do not hesitate to warn (the unbelievers) through it, and remind the faithful. 2 (People), follow whatever is revealed to you from your Lord and do not follow other guardians besides Him. However, you pay very little attention (to Our words) 3 How many a township We have destroyed! Our scourge fell upon them at night, or when they were taking midday rest. 4 and when Our scourge fell upon them, their only cry was, "We were indeed wrongdoers!" 5 Then shall we question those to whom Our message was sent and those by whom We sent it. 6 With knowledge We will narrate to them, for We are never absent. 7 Truth alone will be of weight that Day. Those whose scales are heavy shall be successful, 8 As for those whose bad deeds weigh heavier, they will lose their souls for their injustice to Our revelations. 9 And assuredly We established you in the earth and appointed for you livelihoods therein; yet little thanks ye return. 10
