A 'araaf (Al-A 'araaf)
206 verses, revealed in Mecca after S (Saad) before Jinns (Al-Jinn)
In the name of Allah, the Merciful, the Compassionate
۞ Alif Lam Mim Sad. 1 This is a Book revealed to you. Let there be no impediment in your heart about it. (It has been revealed to you) that you may thereby warn [the unbelievers], that it may be a reminder to the believers. 2 (People), follow whatever is revealed to you from your Lord and do not follow other guardians besides Him. However, you pay very little attention (to Our words) 3 How many towns We have destroyed. Our scourge fell upon them by night or at midday when they were resting: 4 And when Our scourge fell upon them their only cry was: 'We are indeed transgressors.' 5 So We shall question those unto whom a Message was sent, and We shall question the Envoys, 6 And verily, We shall recount their whole story with knowledge, for We were never absent (at any time or place). 7 The balance that day will be true (to nicety): those whose scale (of good) will be heavy, will prosper: 8 And as for those whose scale is light: those are they who lose their souls because they used to wrong Our revelations. 9 We assuredly established you in the earth and arranged for your livelihood in it. Little do you give thanks. 10

قراءة القرآن مترجماً إلى الإنجليزية أو أية لغة أخرى أشبه بقراءة كتب التفسير من قراءة ترجمات حرفية.
Reading the Quran translated into English, or any other language, is more like reading books of interpretation than reading literal translations.
