The Rolling (Al-Takweer)
In the name of Allah, the Beneficent, the Merciful
When the sun is wrapped up [in darkness] 1 And when the stars darken, 2 and when the mountains are made to vanish, 3 when ten-month pregnant camels are left untended, 4 And when wild animals are herded together. 5 when the seas shall be set boiling, 6 and when all human beings are coupled [with their deeds,] 7 And when the girl-child who was buried alive is asked. 8 such as, "For what crime were they murdered?" 9 When the ledgers are laid open, 10 The curtain drawn back from the skies, 11 And when the Scorch shall be made to blaze, 12 And Paradise brought near, 13 [then] each soul shall know what it has put forward. 14 So, I call the receding stars to witness, 15 Moving swiftly and hiding themselves, 16 And the close of night, 17 And by the dawn as it brightens; 18 Verily this is the word of a noble message-bearer; 19 of power, given a rank by the Owner of the Throne 20 The one who is obeyed, and trustworthy. (Other angels obey angel Jibreel). 21 And your companion is not [at all] mad. 22 And of a truth he saw himself on the clear horizon. 23 and he is not one to begrudge others the knowledge [of whatever has been revealed to him] out of that which is beyond the reach of human Perception. 24 And it (the Quran) is not the word of the outcast Shaitan (Satan). 25 When whither go ye? 26 This is certainly the guidance for all (jinn and mankind). 27 For him among you who pleases to go straight. 28 And ye will not, unless (it be) that Allah willeth, the Lord of Creation. 29
