Al-A 'araaf 12 of 24

And We did not send a prophet in a town but We overtook its people with distress and affliction in order that they might humble themselves. 94 and then We changed their hardship into ease until they grew affluent and said, "Our fathers had also experienced adversity and prosperity," then We seized them suddenly, unawares. 95 Had the people of the villages believed and been cautious, We would have opened upon them the blessings from heaven and earth. But they belied, and We seized them for what they earned. 96 Do the people of those towns feel secure that Our punishment will not come to them at night while they are asleep? 97 or that which could seize them during their busy hours of the day? 98 Do they feel secure against the design of Allah None can feel secure against the design of Allah except the utter losers. 99
