The Heifer (Al-Baqarah)
In the Name of Allah, the Most Beneficent, the Most Merciful
Alif-Laam-Meem. (Alphabets of the Arabic language; Allah and to whomever He reveals, know their precise meanings.) 1 THIS DIVINE WRIT - let there be no doubt about it - is [meant to be] a guidance for all the God-conscious. 2 who believe in the unseen, establish the Salats and expend (in Our way) out of what We have bestowed on them; 3 who believe in what has been sent down to thee and what has been sent down before thee, and have faith in the Hereafter; 4 They are on (true) guidance from their Lord, and they are the successful. 5 Indeed, those who disbelieve - it is all the same for them whether you warn them or do not warn them - they will not believe. 6 Allah has set a seal on their hearts and on their hearings, (i.e. they are closed from accepting Allah's Guidance), and on their eyes there is a covering. Theirs will be a great torment. 7
