The Heifer (Al-Baqarah)

286 verses, revealed in Medina after The Cheaters (Al-Mutaffifeen) before The Spoils of War (Al-Anfaal)

In the name of Allah, most benevolent, ever-merciful

Alif Lam Mim. 1 That is the Book, wherein is no doubt, a guidance to the godfearing 2 who believe in the Unseen, and perform the prayer, and expend of that We have provided them; 3 And who believe in what has been revealed to you, [O Muhammad], and what was revealed before you, and of the Hereafter they are certain [in faith]. 4 They are on (true) guidance, from their Lord, and it is these who will prosper. 5 Surely those who disbelieve, it being alike to them whether you warn them, or do not warn them, will not believe. 6 God has sealed their hearts and ears, and veiled their eyes. For them is great deprivation. 7
