Nay, verily: By the Moon, 32 By the night when it withdraweth. 33 and the dawn when it is white, 34 Verily, it (Hell, or their denial of the Prophet Muhammad SAW, or the Day of Resurrection) is but one of the greatest calamities. 35 It is a warning for mankind 36 To him among you who wishes to go forward or remain behind. 37 Every soul will be a pledge for that which it hath earned, 38 Except the companions of the right, 39 (They will be) in Gardens (of Delight): they will question each other, 40 Of evil-doers: 41 'What caused you to be thrust into the Scorching (Fire)' 42 They will answer: “We were not among those who observed Prayer, 43 Nor did we feed the wretched. 44 “And used to dwell on evil matters with those who think evilly.” 45 And we have been belying the Day of Requital. 46 Till death overtook us. 47 So no intercession will avail them. 48 So what is the matter with them that they turn away from the advice? 49 As they were frightened asses 50 fleeing -- before a lion? 51 Rather, every person among them desires that he would be given scriptures spread about. 52 This will certainly never be the case! In fact, they are not afraid of the Day of Judgment. 53 Nay! it is surely an admonition. 54 Let him who will take heed: 55 But they [who do not believe in the life to come] will not take it to heart unless God so wills: [for] He is the Fount of all God-consciousness, and the Fount of all forgiveness. 56
