The Heifer (Al-Baqarah)
In the name of God, the Most Gracious, the Most Merciful
ALIF LAM MIM. 1 This is the Book of Allah: there is no doubt about it. It is guidance to Godfearing people, 2 who believe in the Unseen, and perform the prayer, and expend of that We have provided them; 3 those who believe in the revelation sent down to you and in what was sent before you, and firmly believe in the life to come -- 4 They are on (true) guidance, from their Lord, and it is these who will prosper. 5 As for those whose fate is disbelief, whether you warn them or do not warn them – it is all one for them; they will not believe. (Because their hearts are sealed – see next verse). 6 God has sealed their hearts and their ears, and over their eyes there is a covering. They will have a terrible punishment. 7
