AND [remember the time] when Abraham spoke [thus]: "O my Sustainer! Make this land secure, and preserve me and my children from ever worshipping idols 35 Lord, the idols have misled many people. Whoever follows me is my friend. As for those who disobey, You are certainly All-forgiving and All-merciful. 36 Our Lord! Verily I have caused some of my progeny to dwell in a valley uncultivable near Thy Sacred House, Our Lord! in order that they may establish prayer; make Thou therefore the hearts of some of mankind to yearn toward them, and provide them Thou with fruits, haply they may give thanks. 37 O our Lord! Surely Thou knowest what we hide and what we make public, and nothing in the earth nor any thing in heaven is hidden from Allah: 38 All praise be to Allah Who, despite my old age, has given me Ishmael and Isaac. Surely my Lord hears all prayers. 39 My Lord, make me an establisher of prayer, and [many] from my descendants. Our Lord, and accept my supplication. 40 "Our Lord! Forgive me and my parents, and (all) the believers on the Day when the reckoning will be established." 41
