(Muhammad), do not think that God is unaware of what the unjust people do. He only gives them a respite until the day when the eyes will stare fixedly, 42 Racing ahead, their heads raised up, their glance does not come back to them, and their hearts are void. 43 Warn men of the Day when the punishment will come upon them, and when the wrongdoers will say, "Our Lord, grant us respite for a short while. We will respond to Your call and will follow the messengers." [But God will answer], are you not those who swore that you would never suffer any decline? 44 You lived in the dwellings of those who wronged themselves, and it was clear to you how We dealt with them, and how We struck parables for you. 45 They devised evil plans which were so sinful that even the mountains could not endure them. All these were known to God. 46 So, do not think, (O Prophet), that Allah will go back upon His promise to His Messengers. Surely Allah is Mighty, Lord of retribution. 47 On the day when the earth will be changed to other than the earth, and the heavens (also will be changed) and they will come forth unto Allah, the One, the Almighty, 48 you will see the guilty ones bound in chains, 49 Their raiment of pitch, and the Fire covering their faces, 50 This is how God will recompense each soul for its deeds. God's reckoning is swift. 51 Here is a Message for mankind: Let them take warning therefrom, and let them know that He is (no other than) One Allah: let men of understanding take heed. 52
