99 verses, revealed in Mecca after Joseph (Yousuf) before Animals (Al-An 'aam)
In the name of Allah, most benevolent, ever-merciful
۞ Alif. Lam. Ra'. These are the verses of the Book, and a Clear Qur'an. 1 Soon will the time come when the unbelievers will wish they were Muslims. 2 (Muhammad), leave them alone to eat and enjoy themselves and let their desires deceive them; they will soon know (the Truth). 3 And never did We destroy a township but there was a known decree for it. 4 No people can hasten on their doom nor can they postpone (it). 5 And they say: O you to whom the Reminder has been revealed! you are most surely insane: 6 Why do you not bring to us the angels if you are of the truthful ones? 7 We send not the angels down except with the truth (i.e. for torment, etc.), and in that case, they (the disbelievers) would have no respite! 8 Lo! We, even We, reveal the Reminder, and lo! We verily are its Guardian. 9 And assuredly We have sent apostles before thee among the sects of the ancients. 10 No Messenger went to them whom they did not mock. 11 This is how We cause the hearts of the guilty ones to behave. 12 They will not believe in it, though they have before them the example of former peoples, 13 If We were even to open for them a way to the heavens, and they could continually climb up to it in broad daylight, 14 They will say all the same: "Our eyes were dazed (and clouded over). We were a people ensorcelled." 15

How does the memorization exercise algorithm work? At the lowest level 0, all words are visible. While the highest level 9 hides all words. What about at mid-level, like 3, for example? You might think that the algorithm hides precisely 3 out of every nine words. Not quite! At level 3, each word has a 3 out of 9 chance to hide, and 6 out of 9 to be visible. In other words, it is possible, but highly unlikely, for all words at level 3 to be hidden, or, that all of them to be visible! Also, at mid-levels, and in proportion to the difficulty level, hideouts can be partially incomplete or transparent so that words may be partially visible underneath.
