And indeed, We have put the big stars in the heaven and We beautified it for the beholders. 16 and We have guarded it from every accursed devil: 17 so that anyone who seeks to learn [the unknowable] by stealth is pursued by a flame clear to see. 18 And We spread out the earth, and placed mountains as anchors in it, and in it grew all things by a proper measure. 19 And We have provided therein means of living, for you and for those whom you provide not [moving (living) creatures, cattle, beasts, and other animals]. 20 For, no single thing exists that does not have its source with Us; and nought do We bestow from on high unless it be in accordance with a measure well-defined. 21 We send rain-impregnated winds, and water from the sky which you drink, but you are not the keepers of its store. 22 It is We who give life and We who give death, and We are the One who will abide. 23 We know those who lived before you and those who will come after you. 24 Lo! thy Lord will gather them together. Lo! He is Wise, Aware. 25

How does the memorization exercise algorithm work? At the lowest level 0, all words are visible. While the highest level 9 hides all words. What about at mid-level, like 3, for example? You might think that the algorithm hides precisely 3 out of every nine words. Not quite! At level 3, each word has a 3 out of 9 chance to hide, and 6 out of 9 to be visible. In other words, it is possible, but highly unlikely, for all words at level 3 to be hidden, or, that all of them to be visible! Also, at mid-levels, and in proportion to the difficulty level, hideouts can be partially incomplete or transparent so that words may be partially visible underneath.
