Al-Hijjr 3 of 6
Surely We brought man into being out of dry ringing clay which was wrought from black mud, 26 As We fashioned jinns before from intense radiated heat. 27 Your Lord said to the angels, "I am about to bring into being a man wrought from mud. 28 So when I have made him complete and breathed into him of My spirit, fall down making obeisance to him. 29 So, the angels - all of them - fell down in prostration, 30 But Iblis (did it not); he refused to be with those who made obeisance. 31 (Allah) said: "O Iblis (Satan)! What is your reason for not being among the prostrators?" 32 He said: I am not one to prostrate myself unto a mortal whom Thou hast created out of potter's clay of black mud altered! 33 God said, "Then get out of here; for you are accursed, 34 "And the curse shall be on thee till the day of Judgment." 35 Satan said, "O my Lord! Grant me respite till the Day of Resurrection." 36 He said, "You are granted respite 37 "Till the Day of the time appointed." 38 (Iblis) said: "O my Lord! because Thou hast put me in the wrong, I will make (wrong) fair-seeming to them on the earth, and I will put them all in the wrong,- 39 except the devoted amongst Your worshippers. 40 Said He: "This is, with Me, a straight way: 41 Verily as for My bondmen, no authority shalt thou have over them, except the erring one who follow thee. 42 Surely Hell is the promised place for all of them." 43 it has seven gates: and each gate has a portion of them allotted to it. 44

How does the memorization exercise algorithm work? At the lowest level 0, all words are visible. While the highest level 9 hides all words. What about at mid-level, like 3, for example? You might think that the algorithm hides precisely 3 out of every nine words. Not quite! At level 3, each word has a 3 out of 9 chance to hide, and 6 out of 9 to be visible. In other words, it is possible, but highly unlikely, for all words at level 3 to be hidden, or, that all of them to be visible! Also, at mid-levels, and in proportion to the difficulty level, hideouts can be partially incomplete or transparent so that words may be partially visible underneath.
