AND, INDEED, We have created man out of sounding clay, out of dark-slime transmuted 26 And the Jinn race, We had created before, from the fire of a scorching wind. 27 Your Lord said to the angels, "I am about to bring into being a man wrought from mud. 28 When I have formed him and breathed My spirit into him, fall down in prostration before him," 29 So the angels fell prostrate, all of them together 30 Except Iblis (Satan); he refused to be among those who prostrated. 31 "How is it, O Iblis," said (the Lord), "you did not join those who bowed in homage?" 32 [Iblis (Satan)] said: "I am not the one to prostrate myself to a human being, whom You created from sounding clay of altered black smooth mud." 33 He said: Then go thou forth from hence, for lo! thou art outcast. 34 and the curse shall be on you till the Day of Judgement!" 35 [Iblis (Satan)] said: "O my Lord! Give me then respite till the Day they (the dead) will be resurrected." 36 He said, "You are granted respite 37 until the day of a known time." 38 He said: My Lord! Because Thou hast sent me astray, I verily shall adorn the path of error for them in the earth, and shall mislead them every one, 39 "Except Your chosen, (guided) slaves among them." 40 He (Allah) said: 'This is for Me the Right Path 41 "Certainly, you shall have no authority over My slaves, except those who follow you of the Ghawin (Mushrikun and those who go astray, criminals, polytheists, and evil-doers, etc.). 42 being perverse; Gehenna shall be their promised land all together. 43 It has seven gates and each gate is assigned for a certain group of people. 44
