And We did certainly create man out of clay from an altered black mud. 26 and the jinn We had created before from flaming fire. 27 When your Lord said to the angels, "I will create the human being out of pure mud-moulded clay. 28 “Therefore when I have properly fashioned him and breathed into him a chosen noble soul from Myself, fall down before him in prostration.” 29 So, the angels - all of them - fell down in prostration, 30 Save Iblis. He refused to be among the prostrate. 31 God asked him, "What is the matter with you, that you are not among those who have prostrated themselves?" 32 Said he, 'I would never bow myself before a mortal whom Thou hast created of a clay of mud moulded.' 33 "Go hence, execrable," (said the Lord), "from this place, 34 And surely on you is curse until the day of judgment. 35 Iblis said: "My Lord! Grant me respite till the Day when they will be resurrected." 36 He said: Then lo! thou art of those reprieved 37 Till the period of the time made known. 38 Said he, 'My Lord, for Thy perverting me I shall deck all fair to them in the earth, and I shall pervert them, all together, 39 except for Your chosen servants." 40 He said: This is a right course incumbent upon Me: 41 No power shall you have over (all) My creatures except those who fall into error and follow you, 42 Gehenna (Hell) will be the promise for all of them. 43 Which has several gates, and each gate is marked for every section of them." 44
