The Rolling (Al-Takweer)
29 verses, revealed in Mecca after Thorns (Al-Masad) before The All High (Al-A'alaa)
In the Name of Allah, the Most Beneficent, the Most Merciful
WHEN THE SUN is shrouded in darkness, 1 when the stars shall be thrown down, 2 and when the mountains are made to vanish, 3 And when the camels are left untended, 4 when the savage beasts shall be mustered, 5 And when the seas are filled with flame 6 when the souls shall be coupled, 7 and when the female infant buried alive is asked 8 For what sin she was killed? 9 and when the scrolls [of men's deeds] are unfolded, 10 and when Heaven is laid bare; 11 And when Hell-fire shall be kindled to fierce ablaze. 12 and Paradise is brought near, 13 (Then) shall each soul know what it has put forward. 14 Oh, but I call to witness the planets, 15 that hide, 16 And by the night as it closes in 17 And by the dawn as it brightens; 18 Truly, this is the word brought by a noble messenger, 19 who is honored in the presence of the Lord of the Throne, 20 (One) to be obeyed, and trustworthy; 21 And (O people!) your companion is not one possessed; 22 And without doubt he saw him in the clear horizon. 23 He is not chary of making public what is unknown. 24 Nor is it the word of an evil spirit accursed. 25 When whither go ye? 26 Verily, this (the Quran) is no less than a Reminder to (all) the 'Alamin (mankind and jinns). 27 to every one of you who wishes to tread the straight path. 28 And you will not, unless (it be) that Allah wills, the Lord of the 'Alamin (mankind, jinns and all that exists). 29
True are the words of God the Almighty.
