AND, INDEED, We have created man out of sounding clay, out of dark-slime transmuted 26 And the jinn, We created aforetime from the smokeless flame of fire. 27 Behold! thy Lord said to the angels: "I am about to create man, from sounding clay from mud moulded into shape; 28 So, when I have made him and have breathed into him of My Spirit, do ye fall down, prostrating yourselves unto him. 29 So, the angels prostrated themselves, all of them together. 30 But Iblis did not; he refused to be with the prostrates. 31 He said: O Iblis! What aileth thee that thou art not among the prostrate? 32 He replied: 'I will not prostrate to a mortal You have created of clay, from molded mud' 33 (Allah) said: "Then, get out from here, for verily, you are Rajim (an outcast or a cursed one)." [Tafsir At-Tabari] 34 and there shall be a curse upon you till the Day of Recompense." 35 He said: My Lord! Reprieve me till the day when they are raised. 36 He said: So surely you are of the respited ones 37 Till the Day of the Time known. 38 He said: My Lord! Because Thou hast sent me astray, I verily shall adorn the path of error for them in the earth, and shall mislead them every one, 39 except Your sincere servants". 40 Allah said: "Here is the path that leads straight to Me. 41 Verily as for My bondmen, no authority shalt thou have over them, except the erring one who follow thee. 42 And verily Hell is the place promised unto them all. 43 It has seven gates and each gate is assigned for a certain group of people. 44
