Resurrection (Al-Qeyaamah)
In the name of Allah, Most Gracious, Most Merciful
۞ I do call to witness the Resurrection Day; 1 And I swear by the self-reproaching person (a believer). 2 Does man think that We shall not gather his bones? 3 Yea! We are able to make complete his very fingertips 4 But man would fain deny what is before him. 5 He asks: "When will the Day of Resurrection be?" 6 When the eye is bewildered, 7 And the moon darkens 8 And the sun and moon are conjoined, 9 upon that day man shall say, 'Whither to flee?' 10 By no means! No place of safety! 11 For on that Day the refuge shall be to your Lord. 12 On that day man is told the tale of that which he hath sent before and left behind. 13 nay, but man shall against himself be an eye-witness, 14 in spite of all the excuses he may offer. 15 (O Prophet), do not stir your tongue hastily (to commit the Revelation to memory). 16 It is for Us to collect it and to promulgate it: 17 When We recite it, follow its recitation (by Us). 18 Again on Us (devolves) the explaining of it. 19 By no means! Verily ye love the Herein. 20 And leave (neglect) the Hereafter. 21 Some faces will on that Day be bright with happiness, 22 gazing towards their Lord. 23 and some faces on that Day will be gloomy, 24 Thinking that some calamity was about to fall on them; 25 NAY, but when [the last breath] comes up to the throat [of a dying man,] 26 and it is said: “Is there any enchanter who can step forward and help (by his chanting)?” 27 and he thinks that it is the parting 28 when his legs are brought together [when affliction is combined with affliction]; 29 That Day the Drive will be (all) to thy Lord! 30
