The Comet (Al-Taareq)
17 verses, revealed in Mecca after The Town (Al-Balad) before The Moon (Al-Qamar)
In the Name of Allah, the Beneficent, the Merciful
CONSIDER the heavens and that which comes in the night! 1 And have you understood what the nightly arriver is? 2 It is the piercing star. 3 There is no living being but there is a protector over it. 4 So let man consider of what he was created; 5 He was created of a gushing fluid, 6 emanating from between the loins and the ribs. 7 God has all power to resurrect him. 8 A day when the secrets will be examined. 9 and he shall have no strength, no helper. 10 By the heaven which returneth, 11 by the earth cracking open with new growth. 12 Behold this is the Word that distinguishes (Good from Evil): 13 And is not a matter of amusement. 14 Behold, they [who refuse to accept it] devise many a false argument [to disprove its truth]; 15 and so am I: 16 Give respite to the disbelievers and leave them alone for a while. 17
God Almighty has spoken the truth.
