And certainly We created man of clay that gives forth sound, of black mud fashioned in shape. 26 And the jinn We created before from scorching fire. 27 Your Lord said to the angels, "I am about to bring into being a man wrought from mud. 28 Then when I have formed him and breathed into him of My Spirit fall down unto him prostrate. 29 So the angels prostrated themselves, all of them together: 30 except Iblis; he refused to join those who prostrated. 31 [Allah] said, O Iblees, what is [the matter] with you that you are not with those who prostrate?" 32 Iblis replied, "I did not want to prostrate before a human being whom You have created out of mud-moulded clay". 33 The Lord said: "Then get out of here; you are rejected, 34 and there shall be a curse upon you till the Day of Recompense." 35 Iblis prayed, "Lord, grant me respite until the Day of Judgment". 36 Answered He: "Verily, so be it: thou shalt be among those who are granted respite 37 till that Appointed Day." 38 Said he, 'My Lord, for Thy perverting me I shall deck all fair to them in the earth, and I shall pervert them, all together, 39 “Except those among them who are Your chosen bondmen.” 40 Said He, 'This is for Me a straight path: 41 "For over My servants no authority shalt thou have, except such as put themselves in the wrong and follow thee." 42 Surely, Hell is the place to which they are destined, 43 It has seven gates; for every gate there shall be a separate party of them. 44
