And when the messengers came to the family of Lot, 61 He said, “You are an unfamiliar people.” 62 They said, "But we have come to you with that about which they were disputing, 63 We have come to thee with the truth, and assuredly we speak truly. 64 "Then travel in a part of the night with your family, and you go behind them in the rear, and let no one amongst you look back, but go on to where you are ordered." 65 And We revealed to him this decree, that the roots of these shall be cut off in the morning. 66 And the people of the town came rejoicing. 67 Said Lot: "These are my guests; do not put me to shame, 68 Have fear of Allah, and do not humiliate me." 69 They replied, "Did we not forbid you to bring anyone to your house?" 70 He said: "There are my daughters (to marry), if ye must act (so)." 71 By thy life (O Muhammad) they moved blindly in the frenzy of approaching death. 72 and thereupon the blast [of Our punishment] overtook them at sunrise. 73 We turned the town upside down and rained upon them stones of clay. 74 Indeed in this are signs for people who perceive. 75 And indeed, those cities are [situated] on an established road. 76 Most surely there is a sign in this for the believers. 77 AND THE DWELLERS of the wooded dales [of Madyan, too,] were inveterate evildoers, 78 So We took vengeance on them. And verily both are on a high-road open. 79

How does the memorization exercise algorithm work? At the lowest level 0, all words are visible. While the highest level 9 hides all words. What about at mid-level, like 3, for example? You might think that the algorithm hides precisely 3 out of every nine words. Not quite! At level 3, each word has a 3 out of 9 chance to hide, and 6 out of 9 to be visible. In other words, it is possible, but highly unlikely, for all words at level 3 to be hidden, or, that all of them to be visible! Also, at mid-levels, and in proportion to the difficulty level, hideouts can be partially incomplete or transparent so that words may be partially visible underneath.
