So, when the envoys came to the folk of Lot, 61 he said to them: 'I do not know you' 62 They said: Nay, but we bring thee that concerning which they keep disputing, 63 “And we have brought to you a true command, and indeed we are truthful.” 64 So set out with your family during a portion of the night and follow behind them and let not anyone among you look back and continue on to where you are commanded." 65 And We made known this decree to him, that the root of those (sinners) was to be cut off in the early morning. 66 The people of the town rejoicingly 67 He said: Surely these are my guests, therefore do not disgrace me, 68 And keep your duty to Allah, and shame me not! 69 They said, "Did we not forbid you to extend hospitality to strangers?" 70 Lot exclaimed in exasperation: "If you are bent on doing something, then here are my daughters." 71 By your life, they wandered blindly in their dazzlement. 72 Therefore the scream overcame them at sunrise. 73 We turned the town upside down and rained upon them stones of clay. 74 Surely in this are signs for those who examine. 75 And verily they are on a pathway lasting. 76 Most surely there is a sign in this for the believers. 77 Certainly the dwellers in the Thicket were evildoers, 78 and We took vengeance on them. The two of them were upon a roadway manifest. 79

How does the memorization exercise algorithm work? At the lowest level 0, all words are visible. While the highest level 9 hides all words. What about at mid-level, like 3, for example? You might think that the algorithm hides precisely 3 out of every nine words. Not quite! At level 3, each word has a 3 out of 9 chance to hide, and 6 out of 9 to be visible. In other words, it is possible, but highly unlikely, for all words at level 3 to be hidden, or, that all of them to be visible! Also, at mid-levels, and in proportion to the difficulty level, hideouts can be partially incomplete or transparent so that words may be partially visible underneath.
