People of Hijr rejected the Messengers. 80 And We gave them Our communications, but they turned aside from them; 81 They would carve secure houses out of the mountains. 82 But the Shout seized them in the morning, 83 Therefore their earnings did not in the least benefit them. 84 And We have not created the heaven and the earth and that which is in between them save with a purpose. And verily the Hour is surely coming; so overlook thou with a seemly overlooking, 85 Your Lord is certainly the All-knowing Creator. 86 We have given thee seven of the oft-repeated (verses) and the great Qur'an. 87 Look not with your eyes ambitiously at what We have bestowed on certain classes of them (the disbelievers), nor grieve over them. And lower your wings for the believers (be courteous to the fellow-believers). 88 And say: "I am a distinct warner," 89 [For, thou art the bearer of a divine writ] such as We have bestowed from on high upon those who [afterwards] broke it up into parts, 90 Who have made the Qur'an into portions. 91 By the Lord, We will hold them all responsible 92 for whatever they have done! 93 Proclaim then, what you are commanded and turn away from the unbelievers. 94 Indeed We suffice you against these mockers. 95 Those who adopt, with Allah, another god: but soon will they come to know. 96 And assuredly We know that thou straitenest thy breast by that which they say. 97 Glorify and praise your Lord and be with those who prostrate themselves before God. 98 And worship your Lord until there comes to you the certainty (death). 99
