And make mention (O Muhammad) of Our bondman Job, when he cried unto his Lord (saying): Lo! the devil doth afflict me with distress and torment. 41 (And it was said unto him): Strike the ground with thy foot. This (spring) is a cool bath and a refreshing drink. 42 And We bestowed his household to him and one more similar to it – as a mercy from Us, and as a remembrance for the people of intellect. 43 We said to Him, "Take a handful of twigs in your hand and strike with that but do not break your oath." We found him steadfast. What an excellent servant! He turned constantly to his Lord. 44 And make mention of Our bondmen, Abraham, Isaac and Jacob, men of parts and vision. 45 Indeed, We purified them with a most pure quality, the remembrance of the Everlasting Life. 46 And they are with Us, verily, of the chosen and the best! 47 Remember also Our servants Ishmael, Elisha, and Dhul Kifl; each is among the excellent. 48 This is a reminder. And indeed, for the righteous is a good place of return 49 Gardens of Eden, whereof the gates are open to them, 50 Therein they will recline; therein they will call for plenteous fruit and drink. 51 ۞ And beside them will be chaste women restraining their glances, (companions) of equal age. 52 'This is what you are promised on the Day of Recompense, 53 Indeed this is Our sustenance, which will never end. 54 But the arrogant will have the worst return: 55 They shall roast in (the Fire) of Gehenna, an evil cradling. 56 This - let them taste it: scalding water and corruption. 57 And other similar torments. 58 Their leaders will be told, "This band will also be thrown headlong with you into hell." Their leaders will exclaim, "May condemnation fall upon them! Let them suffer the torment of fire". 59 They will say nay! it is ye, for whom there is no welcome: it is ye who have brought it upon us. Evil shall be the resting-place. 60 They will say: "O Lord, give him who has brought this upon us two times more the torment of Hell;" 61 They say, 'How is it with us, that we do not see men here that we counted among the wicked? 62 and whom we mocked? Have they been rescued or can our eyes not find them?" 63 Verily all this is true. This is how the inmates of the Fire will dispute among themselves. 64
