AND, [likewise,] indeed, the people of Al-Hijr gave the lie to [Our] message-bearers: 80 And We gave them Our Signs, but they were averse to them. 81 They carved out dwellings in the mountains, and lived in security -- 82 An explosion struck them in the morning. 83 that they earned did not avail them. 84 And We created not the heavens and the earth and all that is between them except with truth, and the Hour is surely coming, so overlook (O Muhammad SAW), their faults with gracious forgiveness. [This was before the ordainment of Jihad holy fighting in Allah's Cause]. 85 Verily, your Lord is the All-Knowing Creator. 86 And indeed, We have bestowed upon you seven of Al-Mathani (the seven repeatedly recited Verses), (i.e. Surat Al-Fatiha) and the Grand Quran. 87 Do not direct your eyes towards the things We have given to some of their couples to enjoy, and do not at all grieve because of them, and take the Muslims within the folds of your mercy. 88 And say: Lo! I, even I, am a plain warner, 89 Just as We had revealed [scriptures] to the separators 90 And severed their Scripture into fragments. 91 Now by thy Lord, We shall surely question them all together 92 about what they did. 93 (O Prophet), proclaim what you are commanded, and pay no heed to those who associate others with Allah in His Divinity. 94 Surely We suffice to deal with those who scoff at you, 95 Who set up along with Allah another ilah (god), they will come to know. 96 We know indeed thy breast is straitened by the things they say. 97 Glorify and praise your Lord and be with those who prostrate themselves before God. 98 And keep worshipping your Lord, till death* comes to you. (* The certainty.) 99
