Dispatched (Al-Mursalaat)
In the name of Allah, the Merciful, the Compassionate
By (the wind) those sent (as horses') mane (in succession), 1 storming tempestuously 2 Consider these [messages] that spread [the truth] far and wide, 3 separating one from another, 4 by those who bring down the reminder, 5 To clear or to warn. 6 surely that which you are promised is about to fall! 7 So when the stars are put out, 8 and when the sky is rent asunder 9 The mountains will be blown away as dust. 10 And when the Messengers are gathered to their time appointed; 11 For what day has the term [of all this] been set? 12 one will be told, "To the Day of Distinction". 13 And what will explain to you what is the Day of sorting out? 14 Ah woe, that Day, to the Rejecters of Truth! 15 Did We not destroy the ancient people 16 Then did We follow them up with later ones. 17 So We serve the sinners. 18 Woe on that day unto the beliers! 19 Did We not create you from contemptible water? 20 We then kept it in a safe place. 21 Till an appointed term, 22 For We do determine (according to need); for We are the best to determine (things). 23 Woe on that Day to those who reject the truth! 24 Made We not the earth to be a housing 25 for the living and the dead, 26 and did We not firmly fix towering mountains on it and give you sweet water to drink? 27 Woe that Day to the deniers (of the Day of Resurrection)! 28 Depart to that which you belied! 29 Depart into the shadow of three masses, 30 "(Which yields) no shade of coolness, and is of no use against the fierce Blaze. 31 Verily! It (Hell) throws sparks (huge) as Al-Qasr [a fort or a Qasr (huge log of wood)], 32 "As if there were (a string of) yellow camels (marching swiftly)." 33 Woe on that Day to those that give the lie to the Truth! 34 This is a day in which they will not be able to speak. 35 nor shall they be permitted to offer excuses. 36 Woe on that Day to those who reject the truth! 37 That will be a Day of Sorting out! We shall gather you together and those before (you)! 38 and if you [think that you] have a subterfuge left, try to outwit Me!" 39 Woe on that Day to those that give the lie to the Truth! 40
