The day that every soul shall come disputing in its own behalf; and every soul shall be paid in full for what it wrought, and they shall not be wronged. 111 Allah sets forth the parable of (the people of) a town who were secure and content and whose sustenance came in abundance from every quarter. But then the people of the town showed ingratitude towards Allah for His bounties, so Allah afflicted them with hunger and fear in punishment for their evil deeds. 112 And verily there had come unto them a messenger from among them, but they had denied him, and so the torment seized them while they were wrong-doers. 113 So eat the lawful and good things which God has provided for you, and be thankful for the blessing of God, if it is Him you worship. 114 He has forbidden to you only carrion, and blood, and the flesh of swine, and that over which any name other than God's has been invoked; but if one is driven [to it] by necessity - neither coveting it nor exceeding his immediate need - verily, God is much forgiving, a dispenser of grace. 115 Hence, do not utter falsehoods by letting your tongues determine [at your own discretion,] "This is lawful and that is forbidden", thus attributing your own lying inventions to God: for, behold, they who attribute their own lying inventions to God will never attain to a happy state! 116 A brief enjoyment (will be theirs); and theirs a painful doom. 117 We have forbidden the Jews what We have already related to you. We did not wrong them, but they wronged themselves. 118 Yet surely your Lord, with respect to those who do an evil in ignorance, then turn after that and make amends, most surely your Lord after that is Forgiving, Merciful. 119
